Created in Christ

==================

Greetings to All,

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Eph. 2:10).

Col.3

[10] And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

It says "renewed in knowledge"... What happened in the Garden of Eden? they ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This started a chain of events of man being made in the image of Adam. "Adam.... begat a son in his own likeness, after his image".

So we are told by hearing and believing the gospel of our salvation, we have put on the new man "which is renewed in knowledge" after the image of who? Him that created him. "And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly." (1 Cor. 15:49). When we bear the image of the heavenly, we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works" (Eph. 2:10). Our good works? no, Christ good works... and we know He did many. "... which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Whether these things were made known or kept secret, they were afore prepared. "Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?" (Rom. 9:21). Who is the other to dishonour... what does make one to become a vessel of dishonour? not doing God's will, being disobedient. And for those it is written, "the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: (Rom. 9:22). What, during this dispensation of Grace, that would affect the whole lump of clay, the one vessel, which is man (Eph. 3:2) ... with the outcome being of honour or dishonour? The answer is the image He sees. Are we an earthly image, which represents a barren tree.... or the image of the heavenly, a tree that bears the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22,23). Is this something we can fit ourselves into, like a fitted suit? no. We have to be in Christ. We are "His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus."

God Bless,

Eve
